FVDM SS Great Britain Visit
The Friends of the Museum are planning a day trip to visit the SS Great Britain in Bristol on Wednesday 14th June 2017.
A full day visit will be taken by coach from Wantage leaving at 9 am to arrive in Bristol in plenty of time for a booked tour of Bristol’s No. 1 attraction. We aim to leave Bristol at approximately 4 pm.
The SS Great Britain has enjoyed over 170 years of adventure, travelled a million miles at sea and been around the world 32 times.
After touring the ship a group lunch is booked aboard in a private room names the Hayward Saloon. There will also be time after lunch to visit behind the scenes and explore the Brunel Institute.
The inclusive cost of the coach, entry, guided tour & lunch will be £35.50 for Friends of the Museum & £37.50 for Visitors.
Group menu – A bowl of home-made tomato & basil soup, served with table platters of freshly made sandwiched* ham & tomato, cheddar cheese & tomato, tuna mayonnaise. Served with tea & coffee.
* All sandwich fillings & cake choices are subject to availability.
There will be 30 places available to this popular venue & it will be on a first come first served basis. In order for us to confirm the booking with the SSGB we need to ask you to reserve your place, booking forms are available at the Museum reception & need to be returned to the Museum reception with a cheque before Easter Saturday 15th April* so booking can be confirmed.
*Please note the Museum will be closed on Good Friday 14th April.
The coach will be living at 9 am from Seesen Way, behind the Library & leaving Bristol to return at approx 4 pm.
