The line-up this year is fabulous and we are excited to have a few events taking place in the Museum.

Lucy Newlyn in Conversation with Poet Jenny Lewis

Poet Lucy Newlyn was diagnosed with bipolar disorder following a series of traumatic experiences. In this 15 year diary, Lucy talks about episodes of mania, depression, hallucination and paranoid delusion. Discover how being bipolar helped Lucy unlock her creativity, emerge as a poet and now celebrate the impact her bi-polar disorder has had on her life.

Lucy Newlyn is a poet and academic, who is Emeritus Fellow in English at St. Edmund Hall.Sspecialising in eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century poetry, Lucy retired as professor of English Language and Literature in 2016 to focus on her own work’s.

Jenny Lewis trained as a painter at the Ruskin School of Art before reading English at Oxford University and gaining an MPhil in Poetry from the University of South Wales. She is a poet, playwright and songwriter, specialising in cross-arts collaborations of poetry, music, dance and visual art. She teaches poetry at Oxford University and is a Core Writing Tutor at Pegasus Theatre. Copies of Jenny’s lateset book ‘After Gilgamesh’ will be available to purchase following the event.
