New Building Appeal

New Building for Museum

Presently the Vale and Downland Museum are leasing Legges Cottage the building adjoining the museum under a 3 year lease. That lease will expire in 2012 and the Trustees have been informed it will not be renewed.

Legges Cottage houses the following: Collections Store, Library, Kitchen, Workshop and a Store Room.

The Trustees have therefore sought advice about building a new building within the museum grounds to take over from Legges Cottage.

The new building has been designed to fit in with the existing buildings and surroundings.

Without this building the museum would not have the Café and without the revenue from the Café the museum would be forced to close.

Presently the museum is conducting a New Building Appeal as we still require a large amount of money to complete this project and any donations from those who use the museum and have in the past enjoyed the use of the museum would be greatly appreciated.
